I Gotta Get Out of Here... (Part 1/4)

A few months had passed after my first mission, I still couldn't get my mind off of what I witnessed that day.
"Hey? You alright?" Aleks asked with a soft tone. "Y-yeah, I'm fine..." I responded with a monotone voice. "You know, 'I'm Fine' is the most common lie." Aleks said with a smirk, I didn't respond. "Maya, please. What's up? You know I don't like seeing you depressed..." Aleks asked, voicing his concern. "ALEKS! I-I'm fine...." I snapped, Aleks didn't say anything, but he did look very concerned for me, we then both went back to doing paperwork.

A few minutes later, Lana came into the room and threw some photo's onto my desk. "Got a mission for you and Aleks." I leaned back in my chair "N-No! NO WAY! I'm not going on another stupid mission!" I said with a shaky voice. "Maya? Why don't you want to come along?" Aleks said, still concerned. "I- I Just-....." I went silent, a clear look of trauma on my face. "Wh-What happened on that mission Sterling took you on?" Aleks asked, his worried tone becoming more prevalent. I wanted to open up, but I just couldn't find the courage to push it out. Lana then said what I couldn't. "Maya saw her first dead body on that mission.... Well she saw three." Aleks looked back to me grief-stricken. "Oh my god, Maya." He said as he hugged me tightly. "I'm so sorry." His tight hold comforted me, but I couldn't help but cry a little. It felt good to finally get it off of my chest.

"I hate to kill the mood, and I'm sorry Maya, but you're required to go on this mission. Don't worry about anything traumatic though, we've tracked down where Jordan is hiding out, it's an old abandoned pizzeria, All you and Aleks have to do is detain him and keep an eye on him while the police come to you." Lana said, giving us the briefing. I had a real bad feeling about this mission, I couldn't help but feel like something would go wrong very quickly.

"Okay, well we better head out then." Aleks said as he grabbed his Five-SeveN and holster. "Uhhh yeah, about that, the boss said you're to remain non-lethal this mission, the best we can give you is a couple of tasers." Lana said handing us the yellow and black stun guns. 

"And what do we do if Jordan has a gun? He's killed three police officers already, you think he's going to go easy on us?" I said my worry growing even more. "Hopefully it won't come to that." Lana replied. "Famous last words" I mumbled to myself as Lana walked away. "Okay then, lets go." Aleks said as he started to leave the room. Once he left the room, I checked to see if no one was looking, and I grabbed my Model 29 from my desk and hid it in my inner jacket pocket. I had this scary feeling that I would need it.

Later we arrived at the pizzeria, Aleks opened the door on his side and was about to get out, but stopped and saw that I was just staring out the window at the building. "Maya... Are you okay?" He asked with slight concern. "I just-.... I'm scared..." I muttered softly, Aleks looked sympathetic. "O-Okay Maya... If this is really bothering you this much you can wait in the car." He said solemnly, I almost cut in with my response. "N-NO! I-.... I can't let you go in there alone..." I was even more worried about him than I was with myself. "L-Let's just get this over with." I said as I got out of the car. Aleks sighed and followed me, we snuck around to the back of the building and entered through an emergency exit that was busted open.

We made slow and silent footsteps down the hallway and made it into the main dining area, the tables and chairs were all set up much to our surprise, we looked to the stage where a tall figure stood. The figure turned around and spoke.

"Well, well, well. Just who I wanted to see!"
